Maury

maury

Vin doux naturel Maury AOC, natural sweet wine ('vin doux naturel'), 100 % black Grenache. This Maury reveals an extraordinary potential of aromatic complexity developed by notes of ripe black fruit and kirsch. The mouth releases a real nectar of sweetness and freshness. It will accompany the chocolate but also blue cheeses such as Roquefort. Serve at 15°.

(1) Wearing his large black suit, with the intense glare and slightly purplish, it was not long before to express its Mediterranean character. It unveiled without any restraint, aromas of maturity, jam and blackberries olfactive slightly. Unctuous and ample, the attack we charm by the concentration. A few tannins still "spirited" needed a few months, so that the wine reaches its "apogee". He escapes by gently by respecting its freshness and finesse our palate. To discover with a cheese of Roquefort. High in oak barrel.

(2) "It five years ago, a large gust of wind came to the Atlantic has resulted in Ugo Arguti chalky-of Saint-Emilion, the black shales of Maury…. Its Maury was the eye black and deep of a flamenco dancer, the haughty bearing of these kings of the dance. It is surrounded by fragrance of ripe cherry and settled. Spicy, sweet, fleshy, the palace declined the ripe fruit with elegance and freshness, is shown by its tannins slick satin, flutters and then gently wipes, slowly. The dream past…"

(3) A beautiful rich colour. Nose of prunes, cherries in brandy, almond paste. Well-balanced, fleshy palate, power is nicely counterbalanced by freshness. Pleasurable, typical Maury aromatics, predominantly fruits in brandy. The know-how of the wine grower.

(4) An intense garnet colour. Powerful nose, chocolate, sweet spices and fruit spirits. Mouth balanced, powerful. We found the panoply of the aromatic nose which is expressed with depth and freshness. A maury is truly worthy of the name.

(5) Harvest in crates, long maceration , fermentation at low temperature , manual punching down : a very careful winemaking and extraction will result in dress between red and black and not a tender nose at first, that unfolds slowly to the ventilation on intense and crisp scents of cherry and blackberry, heightened by inherited vanilla and eucalyptus nuances. The black fruit flourishes in an ample and generous palate, remarkable melted, scored in the final by an original touch of cocoa. The Gourmet agreement is found : dark chocolate fondant.

(6) The wine does not hesitate: it will be extraction and concentration as announced by the deep black color. To soothe the power of the burlat cherry, blackcurrant and blackberry, the vanilla and spicy sweetness of the wood ageing is marvelous. The surprise with such power is the balance. Nothing goes beyond, the tannins are melted, the strength is mastered, the freshness plays on the generosity, and the ripe fruitiness calls for the chocolate fondant. Now, tomorrow, in 5, 10 years or more, you have the choice.
